Nadia Margawi is an aspiring musician from Semarang, Indonesia, a fresh graduate with a BA in Music from LASALLE College of the Arts, majoring in Electronic Music. Music had been a part of Nadia’s life from an early age. She took up classical piano early on, taking the ABRSM curriculum, with grade 8 in practical piano and grade 6 in music theory. She performed in local events and took part in several competitions in her hometown. During her years in high school, she started to develop an interest in songwriting, music production and scoring for media. Now, Nadia writes music with piano and electronic elements and is open to exploring different genres in her writing. Her music is profoundly inspired by nature, stories, and other forms of art, as well as her own emotions. She also started performing with fellow musicians at LASALLE, exploring a more electronic approach in her performances. Nadia is always interested in discovering new ways to achieve different sound textures by trying new ways of playing an instrument or processing sounds on digital audio workstations. She is skilled in producing, recording, and mixing on digital audio workstations like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools.

Nadia has recently developed an interest in film and game audio and music. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with LASALLE’s film students on their short films, writing original scores for “Nichol Doesn’t Eat” documentary film (2020), “Mera Bhai” film (2020), “Alighting for Lola” film (2021), and “Okusan” film (2021). She was also involved in several telematic improvisation events in 2021, taking part in online collaborations with universities from Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, and Switzerland. Besides writing music, Nadia has also done several audio-visual works, generating visuals on p5.js and processing videos on Signal Culture Apps and Adobe Premiere Pro.
